The Deer Lakes Board of School Directors hired Charles Bellisario as the part-time Athletic Director at the April 23, 2012 meeting.
Mr. Bellisario has been serving as a Special Education paraprofessional at Deer Lakes and has held positions as the head and assistant coach at both the middle school and high school levels.
Mr. Bellisario holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in education from Duquesne University.
A Riverview graduate, and played football at Duquesne University, where he later worked as an equipment coordinator and held a game-day operations position for the Dukes.
"This is something I have always wanted to do," said Bellisario. "A lot of our sports teams have been doing really well. I think we can get there in all sports. We have the student athletes in the school. And coming from Riverview, I am used to the small-school atmosphere."
A West Deer resident, Bellisario also stays busy at home with his family. He and his wife, Erin, have 22-month-old triplets - Luca, Gabriella and Sienna.
