Congratulations to defending WPIAL and PIAA Class AA champion Deer Lakes, for winning a 3-0 victory over Hopewell in the WPIAL volleyball quarterfinals yesterday at Seneca Valley High School. No. 2 seed Deer Lakes (10-1) will play No. 3 Derry in the Tuesday, May 22, semifinals, with time and place to be announced.

Phillip Foreman, President and CEO of Foreman Architects Engineer (FAE), Inc. and Foreman Program and Construction Managers (FPCM), Inc. attended the meeting of the Deer Lakes Board of School Directors on Tuesday, May 15 to present the District with a federal design award for Deer Lakes High School.
Deer Lakes (11-9) ended its season after winning six in a row with a 6-3 loss at Chippewa Park near Beaver Falls against Riverside on Wednesday, May 16.
Despite the loss, Deer Lakes is the only Alle-Kiski Valley team to win a playoff game the past two years.
