Thank you for your interest in Deer Lakes School District. We welcome your employment inquiry. All vacancies are posted in-house and on the District web site as positions become available. Applications are kept on file for a period of one year and are reviewed by the administration as vacancies occur.

Substitute Positions with the Deer Lakes School District

The following substitute positions are currently available:

Effective July 1, 2008, the Deer Lakes School District will be accepting applications for professional positions via the PA-Educator website.� We would encourage all applicants to follow the directions provided on the PA-Educator website, https://www.pa-educator.net/

For those interested in day-to-day substitute teaching positions, please contact the Superintendent's office at 724-265-5300 Ext. 1212.

If you are interested in any security positions or substitute positions, please contact the Deer Lakes Central Administration Office at 724-265-5300, Extension 1212, for an application and information regarding employment.

Teacher substitute rate is $80 per day. Substitute teachers who work exclusively for Deer Lakes or after working 30 days in the district are paid $85 per day. Bus driver substitutes are paid $50 per day (4 hours). Substitute crossing guards are paid $8.25 per hour. All other sub positions are paid $8.25 per hour. For Your Information - All school district employees must comply with the requirements of having criminal history and child abuse clearances before they can be employed (Act 34/114/151). Clearance fees are as follows: Act 34 - $10, Act 114 - $40 and Act 151 - $10. Applications are available at the Administration Building, located directly behind the Deer Lakes Middle School.
