Deer Lakes High School to present The Little Mermaid

The Deer Lakes High School Drama department will present The Little Mermaid, April 13-15, 2018 place in the high school auditorium. The Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7 p.m., with the Sunday matinee starting at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door.

The musical is based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea and gives up her voice to find love.

Some of the most famous songs from the show, which audiences are sure to recall include, “Kiss the Girl,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” “Part of Your World” and of course “Under the Sea.”

Last year, Deer Lakes won its first Gene Kelly Award in several years in the Lighting category for its show, Little Shop of Horrors.  The show was also nominated in the category of Best Costume Design.
