School buses accident

Earlier today, as students were making their way home for the holiday break, a motor vehicle accident involving two Deer Lakes school buses occurred on Saxonburg Blvd. near Stonecrest Dr. in West Deer Township. 

The accident happened when one of the Deer Lakes school buses appeared to slide into the one in front of it. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and fortunately, nobody was injured. 

The families of the students on each of the school buses were contacted via the school district's emergency messaging system and personal phone calls were also placed to each of the students' parents.

School district and local law-enforcement officials are each still investigating what caused the accident.
