Sights and Sounds From Homecoming 2017
Sights and Sounds From Homecoming 2017Deer Lakes School District celebrated its 2017 Homecoming festivities with a parade that featured more than 50 different school and community groups and organizations and climaxed with the coronation of Gabby Vergerio as homecoming queen and David Czoper as king.

Last year’s homecoming queen, Caitlyn Reading and king, Brandon Anderson made the trip home to crown their respective successors. Last year’s princess and prince, Abby Lisowski and Noah Darsie were also on-hand.

In addition to Vergerio (escorted by Tyler Osselborn) and Czoper (who escorted Iris Schmidt), this year’s homecoming court also featured fellow seniors: Benjamin Butler, Daniel Hutchinson, Hannah Irvine, Eva Sipko, Keistin Sufak and Marc Vrane. Juniors Kayla Olinger and Camden Smith; sophomores Melanie Scanga and AJ Dorman; and freshmen Abigail Boulos and Austin Mravintz rounded out the court.

This year’s theme, Disney at Deer Lakes was a tribute to the magic of Disney. The junior class’ tribute to Disney’s Animal Kingdom claimed honors as best class float.
