I would like to give you a little bit of background about myself. This is my 13th year of teaching. I graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2008 with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. In 2013, I finished my graduate program receiving a Master of Special Education. After graduating in 2008, I received a full time teaching position and have been teaching since. I currently live in Murrysville. I love watching hockey and cheer for the Pittsburgh Penguins. I have been taking Taekwondo for 21 years and I am a 4th degree black belt as well as a Certified Instructor. I also am an active member of the Slickville Volunteer Fire Department.
Here at East Union, I have the pleasure of teaching grades 3-5 in the areas of Mathematics and English/Language Arts. For some students, I am their academic teacher and/or their case manager. The role of the case manager is to monitor your child’s progress during the year through classroom observations, teacher conferences, and student conferences. This information will be forwarded to you so that you are aware of your child’s progress. In addition, the case manager will be responsible for mentoring your child, if needed, and writing his/her IEP. I hope that by providing this service, your child will have the premium opportunity for mastering success within his/her educational program.
In the event that you have any questions throughout the year, feel free to send me an email at [email protected] or call at (724) 265-5330 x 4502. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
I am looking forward to a rewarding and enriching school year for your child.
Thank you for your support,
Ms. Katie Guzzo
