My name is Ms. Lisa Siegle, and I am a 5th grade Language Arts teacher at East Union Intermediate Center.  I have been teaching at Deer Lakes since 2005.  Prior to teaching  5th grade, I taught Kindergarten, Family and Consumer Science, and I monitored the In-School Suspension room at the middle school.

 

I chose to be a teacher because I enjoy the everyday interaction with the students.  I find it very rewarding to watch the growth of each student academically, socially, and emotionally.  If I can in some small way help the student become all they are meant to be and achieve all they hope to in their lives, then I consider myself a very lucky person.  

 

 

Welcome back to another great start to the new school year.  This year Mr. Brough and I will be switching classes.  I will be the Language Arts teacher and Mr. Brough will be teaching Math, Science, and Social Studies.  I am looking forward to meeting you, but more importantly, truly getting to know you throughout the school year!

 

 

Suggested Supplies:

These items are to cover all subjects in my room and Mr. Brough's room.

• 2 " binder  (preferably zipper closure binder)  
• 6 multi-colored pocket folders (3-hole punched)
• 3 composition notebooks (black/white type or similar)
• 3 spiral-bound single subject notebooks 
• soft zipper pencil bag/case 3-hole punch style that fits in binder
• hand-held pencil sharpener with built-in shavings collector
• 4 glue sticks (or more!!!) pencil top erasers
• multi-colored highlighters
• dry erase markers, old sock or cloth to use as an eraser

 

 

 

Assignments will be listed in the assignment book nightly and posted on the Daily Assignment Sheet.

 

Spelling should be reviewed each night.  

 

Homework in Language Arts will mostly consist of what the children do not get finished throughout the day.

 

I do not give a lot of homework so when I do, I expect it to be done.
