My name is Sarah Simon and I am a Learning Support, English Teacher at Deer Lakes High School. This is my fourth year at Deer Lakes and I am excited to continue my journey and meet new students!

 

I currently live in Greensburg with my husband and our two Dachshunds, Toby and Geno. 

 

From a young age, I was interested in becoming a Special Education Teacher. Two of my family members with special needs inspired me to pursue this field. I truly believe that every student can learn SOMETHING. It may require some trial and error, adaptations and accommodations, repetition, patience, hard work, etc. to reach each student, but I feel that helping students access new information and learn is incredibly rewarding. I am very excited to see what the 2019 - 2020 school year will bring! 

 

All General English assignments will be taken from the Deer Lakes English Curriculum and adapted to fit the learning levels within the classroom. Both group and individual assignments will be provided.

 

At times, lesson plans change throughout the week. Student progress directly influences daily lessons.

 

This year we will be focusing on a variety of skills: reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and career readiness skills.
