Deer Lakes sophomore earns Best Supporting Actor award

Congratulations to sophomore Morgan Adams who recently earned Prime Stage Drama's Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in "Our Town," the High School's fall play.

"I was excited just to be nominated, but didn't think too much about it," Morgan said. "...I was actually preparing for disappointment when they said, 'the winner is,' and then I heard my name. It was very surreal standing up."

Morgan credited fellow cast mates who he has learned from over the last few years.

"Everyone is great, and I wouldn't be Best Supporting Actor without, in my opinion, the Best Actor and Actress and so many other talented performers," Morgan said. "I love being on stage with them. The chemistry we have is amazing, and they've helped me grow as a performer. I copy and borrow from what they do on stage a lot. I do that because I admire them, and I look up to them."

Deer Lakes was also nominated in the following categories:

*Best Overall Production
*Best Crew
*Best Costume Design
*Best Actor, Victor Cervone
*Best Actress, Emma Blodgett
*Best Supporting Actress, Camryn Brown

"I love it especially because we are a small school, so it feels like we have a family," Morgan said. "It's nice to have that. I have my family at home, and I have my family here. We have a special bond."
