What do you teach at Deer Lakes?
I am a teacher of students with special needs at Curtisville.
When did you know you wanted to be in education?
It was something I was passionate about early on, probably elementary, however up until High school I really wanted to be a Marine Biologist. I ended up doing my senior project on Special Education and found my passion.
What do you enjoy about your students?
I enjoy that "AH HA" moment where something they were working on finally clicks!
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
There were many favorites, however, my favorite teacher was Mr. Beltzner because he started teaching us sign language and he taught us many math tricks I still use today!
What do you enjoy when you’re not teaching?
I enjoy spending time with my kids, reading, and being outside!
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
I would love to travel the world, especially Iceland.
If you could be a member of any past or current band which would you join?
I am not very musically inclined, and I don't listen to any specific bands. However, I would love to be part of the Hamilton crew. It is my current obsession!
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
I think I would like the power to travel through time.
What’s your favorite family recipe?
A family favorite recipe of mine is cheesy potatoes.
What’s your favorite dessert?
Cheesecake!
What’s your favorite movie?
A League of their Own
If you could pick one person to play you in a movie who would it be?
I would be Melissa McCarthy because she is hilarious!
What can you reveal that people might not expect about you?
I am from Eastern, Pennsylvania. I am naturally quiet (unless I know you), I know sign language, and I hate peaches!
