Deer Lakes announces Barnes as Assistant Superintendent
WEST DEER, Pa. – Deer Lakes superintendent Dr. Janell Logue-Belden announced today that Bobbi-Ann Barnes has been hired as the assistant superintendent of Deer Lakes School District at an annual salary of $90,000. Mrs. Barnes was unanimously approved by the school board at its March 17 voting meeting following a pair of interviews, including a comprehensive presentation on mathematics data analysis and curriculum mapping for the district administrators and school board members.

Dennis Bowman to make final career classroom visit to Deer Lakes
CHESWICK, Pa. - Meteorologist Dennis Bowman, an institution in local weather and KDKA's morning and noon voice of weather, will retire on April 17. However, before he signs off the airwaves for the final time he will visit Deer Lakes' own Curtisville Primary Center on April 15 for one final edition of his legendary Classroom Weather series.
"In partnership with the community, the Deer Lakes School District will provide a dynamic, comprehensive educational program and support services necessary to meet the diverse needs of all students in a safe, caring environment, thus enabling them to reach their potential as responsible, productive citizens."
