Deer Lakes Holds Annual Mock Accident
Local police, fire, EMS, and Life Flight personnel - along with seniors Makenzie Herbinko, Emma Nowakowski, Ken Phillips, and Sal Stoneburner - recently staged a realistic mock car accident to give Deer Lakes High School students a glimpse of the potential consequences one could face if they chose to drink and drive or get in the car with someone who has consumed alcohol and decided to get behind the wheel.

Deer Lakes team takes second place in Bayer Mentorship Program
WEST DEER, Pa. – The Deer Lakes High School team of Maureen Hutchinson, Mackenzie Kacsur, Alexa Newbrough, Jessie Philistine, and Maria Taliani took second place in the 15th Annual Bayer Corporation Mentorship Program, a business to education outreach program that is sponsored by the Cultural Communications Alliance (CCA).
2015-2016 Deer Lakes Athletic Physicals
Before students participate in any sport, it is mandatory that they have a sports physical exam performed by a medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy. Sports physicals will cost $20 for the high school athletes and $15 for middle school athletes. Checks may be made payable to the Deer Lakes School District. No physicals will be performed without the completed paperwork and fee!!!
Deer Lakes Honors Six Distinguished Alumni
WEST DEER, Pa. - On April 24, Deer Lakes recognized six former graduates who have gained recognition for outstanding accomplishments in their fields of endeavor as part of its Fourth Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner and Ceremony. Approximately 100 guests were in attendance for the event.
"In partnership with the community, the Deer Lakes School District will provide a dynamic, comprehensive educational program and support services necessary to meet the diverse needs of all students in a safe, caring environment, thus enabling them to reach their potential as responsible, productive citizens."
The Deer Lakes School District has been designated as a Tobacco Free Zone. The use of all tobacco products is now prohibited on all Deer Lakes School District grounds and facilities.
