Building and Grounds

The Buildings and Grounds Department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of five buildings totaling over 100 acres of property and is committed to providing a clean and safe environment for the staff and students.

Energy Savings/Capital Improvements Project

Deer Lakes School District’s Board of School Directors approved in March 2023 an Energy Savings/Capital Improvements Project that began this summer with Constellation Energy.

Multiple portions of this project began immediately after graduation. It is expected to run into next summer. Once the entire project is completed the energy savings will be utilized to help offset the cost of construction.

Constellation Energy is working on procurement of supplies. Please continue to follow our website for updates as they become available.

The upgrades are as follows:

District Wide
  • Completed* Parking Lot Sealing, Painting and Paving District Wide. During this process no facilities will be closed. Please follow construction signs as posted.
  • LED Lighting throughout All Buildings
  • HVAC Software Programs
  • Seal Up All Buildings for Energy Loss Prevention
High School
  • LED Lighting Upgrade to High School Auditorium/Stage
  • Rooftop Unit Refurbishment  
  • New HVAC System for Main IT Server Area
Middle School
  • Rooftop Unit Replacement
East Union
  • Chiller Replacement
  • Rooftop Unit Replacement
Curtisville Primary
  • Boiler Replacement
  • Rooftop Unit Replacement
Central Administration
  • Window Replacement
Athletic Facilities
  • New Athletic Turf on Baseball and Softball Facilities

Deer Lakes School District accepts requests to use district facilities from both profit and non-profit organizations (different fees and deposits apply). See the attached PDF for more details. To request the use of district facilities for your organization, please complete this FACILITIES REQUEST FORM and submit to the building which houses the facility you wish to use.
