Just a friendly reminder that Friday is our annual Homecoming parade, coronation and football game.

The parade, which begins at Deer Lakes Middle School at 6 p.m., will wind its way down East Union Road to Lancer Stadium. The nearly one-mile stretch of East Union Road will be closed to traffic starting at 5:45 p.m. through the completion of the parade which officials estimate will be at approximately 6:45p.m. The coronation is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m., with the football game versus Greensburg Salem kicking off at 7:30 p.m.

Parking will be available on a first-come-first-served basis, starting in the stadium parking lot and extending to the high school parking lot. Once those spaces have filled up, cars will be redirected to the parking lots of Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home (179 Starr Road, Russellton, PA 15076), East Union Presbyterian Church (292 East Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024), and No Offseason Sports (904 Little Deer Valley Road, Russellton, PA 15076). Shuttle service will be in effect starting at 4:30 p.m. until 30 minutes after the game.

Deer Lakes School District invites all members of the communities of East Deer, Frazer, and West Deer townships to join us in celebrating the 2023 Homecoming festivities, including the annual Homecoming parade, football game vs Greensburg Salem. (7:30 p.m. kickoff) and pre-game coronation, all of which will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023. This year’s Homecoming theme is Enchanted Garden.

As in years past, parade participants will assemble at the Deer Lakes Middle School parking lot by no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the event. The parade will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and will follow East Union Road from the Middle School to the Deer Lakes High School.

The entire length of the route is approximately 1.2 miles. School or community groups and organizations wishing to participate in this year’s parade should contact the district at [email protected].
