DESCRIPTION:
Network Technician
Reports to: Director of
Information Technology
Description: This individual will
be responsible for overseeing the Deer Lakes School District network
infrastructure. Additionally, this person will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2
technical assistance to students, faculty, and administrators of the district
via phone, remote desktop, and in person settings.
Technical Skills and/or Certifications
Required: Cisco, Extreme, and 3com networking, Windows 7 and 10 administration, Google administration, Windows Server 2008 and up administration, VMware administration, computer troubleshooting and repair, experience with Extreme wireless equipment or Avaya telephone a plus. Experience with Netapp storage and multimedia, projectors, soundboards a plus. Preference will be given to those with Google certs and experience in education technology.
Required Education: Associates degree in network administration, computer repair, or systems administration required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or network administration preferred.
Required Experience: 1-3 years’ experience working with virtual servers, troubleshooting hardware and software, Windows 7 and up and Office and Google Suite, and basic networking and systems administration required. Experience working in a school district technology department a plus and must be an independent worker who can handle multiple tasks in a team-oriented environment.
