Principals' Message

Hello Middle School Students and Families,

We are so excited to welcome everyone back for the 2022-2023 school year.  The last couple of years have certainly held their challenges and we are looking forward to another fresh start.

As we continue to return to our pre-pandemic policies and structures, we are no longer offering our [email protected] option.  We are excited to have all of our students back in the building for in-person instruction.  We do however realize that some families may still elect for our fully on-line option, Lancer Academy, which we continue to offer to all students.

Important things to know about the DLMS 2022-2023 school year:

  • Personalized Learning (PL) period is back!  After feedback from staff and students we moved Personalized Learning to 5th period.

  • We are implementing a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Program.

    • Students will be recognized for doing well.  We are excited for the positive changes that we expect this program to bring.

Items to remember for the 2022-2023 school year:

  • Class schedules and real-time grades will be available via Skyward.

  • Bus schedules will be available via the Ride360 App, which is available in both the Google Play and Apple App store.

  • Classes begin at 7:40 at DLMS.  The tardy bell will ring promptly at 7:40.

  • Bookbags are no longer allowed to be carried for grades 6-8.  Students will once again be assigned lockers and locks.  Lockers should be used to store bookbags.  Lockers should be secured with the lock provided.

  • Please review the school supply lists for grades 6-8 found on the website.

We realize there are a lot of changes occurring for this school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact DLMS. We look forward to seeing you all back in the fall!

Sincerely,

Dr. Samantha Abate
