I teach grades 10 and 12 at Deer Lakes High School. Prior to this teaching job, I attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown; the Deer Lakes School Board fortunately approved my hiring the day before I graduated! I am thankful for the opportunity because DL has become my home. I have grown up here as much as many of my former students, from all of whom I have learned, too.

 

     I enjoy working with high school level students. They are capable of much more than many adults often believe. Additionally, I love teaching literature. Through reading, one may vicariously live through others' different life experiences, therefore promoting a profound understanding of one's life purpose. You may better understand my philosophies after reading the syllabi.

 

   

   Students may revise most assignments. After all, they should learn from their mistakes instead of being punished for them. I will accept revisions after students receive the graded assignment. Students may not wait to turn in multiple revisions at the end of a marking period. Moreover, all resource worksheets that students receive in class are also posted on Google Classroom; therefore, students have access to everything they need at all times.

 

   Weekly calendars with daily lessons are posted on Google Classroom Classwork pages.  

 

   Please ask the student to show you his or her Google Classroom page. Everyone has his or her own access.
