My name is Shauna Brown and I am a 7th grade language arts and reading teacher at Deer Lakes Middle School. I have taught in the Deer Lakes School District since 1998. I started my career at Deer Lakes High School teaching English. I moved to the middle school when it opened in 1999. I spent the majority of my career there teaching 6th and 7th grade reading and language arts. In 2012, I moved to Curtisville Primary to teach first grade. After a year there, I moved up to fourth grade to where I taught reading and language arts. In 2015, I was fortunate enough to come back to the middle school and teach the age level I love most.
Prior to Deer Lakes, I attended Edinboro University where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education English and a dual certification in Elementary Education and Secondary Education. I also attended Gannon University and received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am here to make sure that all my kids are included, welcomed and leave with a sense of accountability, responsibility and accomplishment.
I have a vested interest in the school district because I live here as well as work here. I reside with my husband of 19 years, Chuck, our two daughters, Kendall (15) and Camryn.
