My name is Maureen Hedglin and I am a Special Education Teacher for grades 3, 4, and 5 at East Union Intermediate Center. I have taught at Deer Lakes since 2005. Prior to teaching at Deer Lakes, I taught one year for the Allegheny Valley School District in the Life Skills room for grades kindergarten, first, and second.

Being a Deer Lakes graduate, I hope to instill the same school pride in your child that I feel every day when I walk the halls.

CREDENTIALS:

I graduated from Deer Lakes High School in 2000 and continued my education at Mercyhurst College. I graduated from Mercyhurst College in 2004 with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I was hired in the fall of 2004 as the Life Skills Teacher at Acmetonia Primary Center in the Allegheny Valley School District. In 2005 I was hired at the Deer Lakes School District as a Special Education Teacher in the Math Department at Deer Lakes High School. During my time at the high school level, I went back to school and received a Masters in Educational Leadership. In 2008 I moved into a Special Education position at East Union Intermediate Center.
